What We Do
The mission of the Center for Energy Systems Research is to promote and facilitate education and research in the energy domain and to impartially serve the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the nation, and the international community by assisting them with energy issues.
Research
A multidisciplinary team is working on fuel cell systems for transportation and stationary power applications. The team's expertise is being applied to the following research areas:

- Basic fuel cell processes and systems
- Fuel cell oriented CFD / experimental work

Facilities
- Fuel Cell Test Stand: 5 ke fuel cell test stand for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) located in Ware Engineering Lab
- Fuel Cell Based Fuel Reform (test stand) located in Randolph Hall
