Programs
The goal of the mechanical engineering program is to prepare students for entry into the mechanical engineering profession, and is designed to meet a carefully planned set of educational objectives. We strive to prepare our students for employment immediately following graduation or for entry into a graduate program in mechanical engineering or other related fields.
The unifying activity in all aspects of mechanical engineering is the design function. Elective courses in the senior year provide students with the opportunity to pursue specialized interests related to career plans or preparation for graduate study.
The department offers graduate programs leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering.
