Teaching Activities

Experience

  •   My experience in teaching began when I started teaching the system dynamics laboratory during my graduate studies at Clemson. The laboratory required general lectures in the first couple of sessions. These lectures were shared among all the teaching assistants. During the rest of the laboratory sessions, experiments were explained and carried out by the students. While in graduate school, I also taught mathematics and physics at the local college (Greenville Technical College). My real experience in teaching began when I joined Tehran Polytechnic Institute, a very highly ranked university in the Middle-East and worldwide. The first two years I taught static and dynamics to undergraduate students (I must mention that the students are among the top 2% of the high school graduates taking the entrance exam). I would also teach control theory or vibrations every other semester. Once I gained enough experience, I started teaching graduate level courses in advanced dynamics and advanced control. I also developed and offered two new graduate level courses in vehicle dynamics and system dynamics, Bond Graph approach. As I joined Goodyear in 1998, I was selected to become a faculty member of the newly established Goodyear Institute of Technology (GIT). I have been delivering lectures in tire/vehicle dynamics to associates with various backgrounds. I have also been involved in teaching at the University of Akron for the past nine years where I teach system dynamics, dynamics, and control to undergraduate and graduate students.
