_____If you live near Virginia
Tech and want to be part of our team, we would love to have you! We
need all areas of expertise. We're a team of senior mechanical engineers
and grad students but we are not experts in electronics, PR, web design,
auto mechanics, and anything else you're into. Even if you don't have
any skills, we'd still love to have you. Our team members are indepenant,
self-starting, and tackle every kind of engineering and technical
problem. Drop us an email for meeting times and directions to our
lab.
_____If you're not near
VT and still want to participate in our team, we are accepting partners
for the next Grand Challenge. We would be delighted to develop a collaborative
relationship with your school, buisiness, or organization to work
on new and innovative vehicle subsystems. Areas of interest to us
are stereo vision obstacle detection, robotic platform / manipulator
development, advanced laser sensors, geometric terrain mapping, landmark-based
localization, and land vehicle kinematics. If you have an area of
expertise that you think could help VTGC push the limits in autonomous
navigation we want to hear your ideas.
_____If you cannot participate
directly on our team, we desperately need monetary and equipment sponsors.
Our student team relies on our generous sponsors to provide support
for our efforts. Unfortunately, cutting-edge components and sensor
technology are not cheap. Every cent donated to the team is used to
purchase components for our vehicles. Every bit of support counts
and is greatly appreciated. If you would like to see your product
demonstrated on top-of-the-line autonomous vehicles, contact us to
see how we can work together. Contact VTGC via email for more information
on donations.
