Side Impact Protection
In the U.S., over 8000 persons are fatally injured each year as the result of a side crash. Our research in side impact focuses on the protection of occupants who are seated on the non-struck or far side of struck vehicle. We are also investigating occupant protection in near side impacts and the problem of side crash compatibility.
