Crash Modeling
Our research projects make extensive use of computational crash modeling to study advanced occupant restraint designs and severe crash modes. For our studies of vehicle crash or highway barrier response, we use the LSDYNA non-linear finite element code developed by LSTC. For our occupant restraint models, we use both LSDYNA and MADYMO, a coupled articulated body-finite element code developed by TNO.
