"Reza A. Soltan (PhD'12) received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from K. N. T. University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2006. He then received the M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania in 2009. During his master's he was also with the Center for Nonlinear Dynamics and Control (CENDAC) and was a senior researcher at the USV lab of the Office of Naval Research at Villanova University. In 2009 he was selected as the outstanding graduate student at Villanova and received the college of engineering outstanding researchers' medallion. Also in the American Control Conference 2009, he was a member of the chair committee of the Marine Vehicle session. Currently at Virginia Tech he is a PhD candidate in the mechanical engineering department and he is the 2009 College of Engineering Dean's Teaching Fellow. He is also with the Center for Vehicle Systems and Safety (CVeSS) at Virginia Tech. His current research interests are in the areas of nonlinear dynamics and controls, limit cycles, chaos and stability theory."
