Heather is a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering working under the direction of John B. Ferris in the Vehicle Terrain Performance Lab (VTPL). She received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in Mechanical Engineering. She was a member of the Formula SAE team for four years, and her last year culminated in the design, testing and validation of the shocks, anti-roll bars, and bell cranks of the 2008 vehicle.
