Florin graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005. He has been working in the Center for Vehicle Systems & Safety ever since, pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
Florin’s area of research is vehicle dynamics, controls and vibrations as applied to heavy trucks. He is working on improving the ride quality of semi trucks using Magneto-Rheological technology.
When Florin isn’t in the lab, he is spending time with his lovely girlfriend and their dog hiking in the hills surrounding Blacksburg. They also ride road bicycles and in the winter they’re avid snow skiers. Florin also enjoys photography and always carries his camera gear during his travels.
