Zac is a mechanical engineering graduate student in the Railway Technologies Lab at CVeSS and is working on a project to improve the life of rail insulated joints. He is originally from Irmo, South Carolina, home of the Okra Strut and is proud to be an Irmite. Zac graduated from Clemson University in Clemson, SC with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in December of 2005 and moved up to Blacksburg right afterwards in January. When Zac's not working on research, he likes to get outside and hike, fish, and camp and is loving that Blacksburg is a great place to do all those things. He also loves music and to play the guitar. When Zac graduates, he is going to work for Lockheed Martin in New York.
