Saied Taheri was the owner and president of two consulting companies in Tehran, Iran before moving to the U.S. in 1998 to join Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Simultaneously Taheri was an assistant professor and director of the Advanced Vehicle Laboratory (AVL) of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tehran Polytechnic Institute.
When Taheri moved to Goodyear as a senior development engineer, he was responsible for developing several new technologies including stability criteria for extended mobility tires, handling performance metrics, fuzzy based driver model, steering system model, and a seventeen degrees of freedom simulation model. In 2004 he joined TRW Automotive as technical specialist responsible for developing vehicle stability control algorithms, a failsafe algorithm, and a software based trimming procedure. In the same year, he moved back to Goodyear and developed a tire synthesis process, a compound handling performance metrics, and a simple lumped parameter tire model. . He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
