Mr. Holton has more than 35 years experience in the design, fabrication and testing of electronic, optical and optical fiber-based sensors, devices and instrumentation, has 8 issued patents and more than 40 intellectual property assets. He was a research engineer in the underwater electrical mechanisms area for the US Navy's NSWC White Oak facility. He was principal investigator for a development programs and field tests of underwater sensors used in torpedo and mine like platforms. He has served as a senior staff engineer in the Hydromechanics Laboratory at the U.S. Naval Academy where he was involved in Laser Doppler Velocimetry and a wide range of conventional and non-conventional instrumentation for detecting hydrodynamic and coastal engineering parameters. He has worked at United Technologies on airborne lidar and related remote sensing systems, at Florida Atlantic University in imaging and optical displays and at Virginia Tech, where he has conducted work in biomedical sensors, optical fiber meteorology and LIDAR.
