In addition, the department offers opportunities for students to attend professional conferences and internships, as well as attend professional development courses offered through the VT Graduate School’s Transformative Graduate Education program. The 2017 U.S. News & World Report rankings have the Virginia Tech Mechanical Engineering program listed as the No. 13 ranked undergraduate program, and the 16th ranked graduate program in the nation.
